General

We are looking for two food qualified officers to join our west London local authority client.  It is an excellent opportunity for an Imported Food Officer / Environmental Health Officer / Higher Certificate Technical Officer to primarily undertake duties as required for delivering port health functions.

The client is prepared to pay £35 to £38 for the right candidates

Knowledge/ Education/Qualifications

• Food safety and health and safety hazards in the local authority enforcement sector.

• Current food safety and health and safety legislation, FSA codes of practice and working guides.

• Principals and practice of controlling rats, mice, vermin and nuisance pests and also pest control legislation. 

• PACE, Criminal Investigation and Procedures Act, RIPA, preparation of evidence, service of statutory notices.  

• Transmission and control of food borne disease and other notifiable infectious disease.

• To comply with the CIEH requirements for CPD and to keep up to date generally with relevant professional work areas, legislation and technical developments in the environmental health field.

The Inspecting Officer must be able to demonstrate how they are capable of meeting the competencies relating to Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4.) and have at least 20 hours of Food Core CPD as specified in the current version of the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.

 A copy of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) must be provided.
