East London local authority client needs a health and safety expert for a temporary role
Responsible principally for the provision of professional fire safety and occasional health & safety advice to ensure the Council blocks and estates comply with Fire and Health, Safety Regulations and resolving issues to ensure compliance.
To visit blocks, estates, sheltered and temporary accommodation to carry out fire safety and health & safety inspections, of the block/ estate, record any non-compliance issues, unsafe conditions or unsafe actions by contractor or resident (e.g. storage on balcony, use of non-standard fire door, restriction of corridor access, storage of mobility scooters, iron gates) and arrange for the necessary action to be taken achieve compliance with Regulation, Council Policy and make properties safe.
To review property Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) of communal areas and create action plans, work specifications, raise repair orders, commission works, monitor Contractors and completion of works, arrange for items to be removed and work with Council staff and contractors to ensure these issues are resolved.
Monitor Contractor provision of FRA in terms of technical quality, accuracy and actions
To keep records to track and monitor compliance. Provide Technical and Inspection Reports, Action plans, Works Orders and Records to provide an audit trial to demonstrate compliance
