We are looking for a Trading Standards Officer / Enforcement Officer / Investigator to join our local authority client, based in the south midlands

The contract will be for a minimum of three months

Role Purpose : To achieve and sustain a fair and safe trading environment for the benefit of consumers and businesses interest and enforce a wide range of legislation. To ensure appropriate action is taken, investigate complex complaints and enquiries with little supervision, adhering to the Trading Standards Enforcement Policy. To ensure compliance with the legislative framework and court procedures, ensure all documentation is completed appropriately with minimal supervision. Be able to give evidence at court for both criminal and civil trials. To enable us to understand areas of consumer and business detriment carry out project work.

The post holder must be independently mobile as this role involves work at a variety of urban and rural locations including public, private and commercial premises. There may be the need to work from different locations. The job requires an amount of handling, lifting and carrying of sensitive and confidential documents and some equipment. The use of a vehicle is essential. There will be a requirement to work both alone and with other team members.
