Full Vacancy Description

We are looking for a Trading Standards Professional to join our north west England Trading Standards department on a temporary basis

They are looking for an all rounder with particular emphasis on the folowing areas

These are the areas that we are hoping to get covered by agency staff to free up our  team to deal with more complex investigations/prosecutions. 

• NTS funded Safety at Ports work at the airport. This would necessitate getting an airport pass (which involves a specific DBS check and security training). This work involves visiting the airport to check whether goods being imported are compliant with safety legislation
• Calibration work in our in-house laboratory
• Reviewing licensing applications and submitting representations on behalf of the Trading Standards Service
• Carrying out inspections at pet shops, dog breeders etc to determine whether they can be given a licence
• Assisting on trade mark investigations/raids
• Dealing with complaints that are not likely to result in formal enforcement action
