Environmental Health Officer (food)

Full Vacancy Description

We are looking for a food qualified Environmental Health Officers to join our south London local authority client on a temporary basis

The officers must be fully qualified Environmental Health Officer with EHORB registered or a Food Safety Officer who holds the Higher Certificate in Food Control, EHORB registered.  Officers must have experience of taking enforcement action including undertaking closures of food business.  Anyone wishing to apply should have the knowledge and recent experience to demonstrate an ability to carry out official food controls and enforce food law in all categories of food premises risks.

Officers will be required to undertake food safety, food standards and health and safety hazard spotting at each food establishment.   Where contraventions have been found notices will have to be served and enforcement action taken on non-compliance.  The officers will also undertake food sampling and may have to undertake reactive work and participate in health and safety projects.
