Role               Health and Safety Adviser (Leisure Services)

We are seeking a proactive individual with a strong drive to join a north London local authority on a contract basis

They will support the leisure centre project which entails three leisure centre’s being brought back in house. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) and GradIOSH (or equivalent professional membership). The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience of working with leisure centres (or similar) with examples of how they have overcome challenges.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience of providing competent health and safety advice in the public sector or for other large multi-site organisations, based on detailed knowledge of the practical application of current occupational health and safety legislation, best practice in accident and ill health prevention and other related issues, offering creative, constructive and cost-effective solutions.

They will demonstrate impeccable written and verbal communication skills, consistently upholding a standard of professionalism in all interactions. Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite, will be essential in efficiently managing tasks and facilitating seamless communication within the team.

The Health and Safety Adviser (Leisure Services) role is a critical temporary position responsible for providing competent and professional health and safety advice and support to ensure the smooth transition of bringing three of the borough’s leisure centre’s back in house.

In addition, the candidate should possess exceptional organizational prowess, adeptly handling multiple tasks and prioritizing them for optimal efficiency. Their demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion will be a cornerstone of their success in this role, ensuring the smooth and secure functioning of health and safety processes and procedures.

Leisure experience essential / hybrid (mix of 2/3 days in the office) / Minimum of L6 H&S qualification
